Abstract
An extended eigenvalue for an operator A is a scalar λ
for which the operator equation AX = λ XA has a nonzero
solution. Several scenarios are investigated where the existence
of non-unimodular extended eigenvalues leads to invariant or
hyperinvariant subspaces.
