The journal was founded in 1995; since 2003 it appears in the form of thematic issues. It publishes original surveys, research papers, and short communications from all areas of fundamental and applied mathematics, as well as papers concerning mathematical enlightenment and information about mathematical activities. All papers are thoroughly refereed.

The journal is addressed to researchers, professors, and students.

The journal is published by the Center of New Information Technologies, Moscow State University and the Publishing house "Open Systems".
